- The Department of Botany was established in the year 1988-1989.Since then the department has steadily grown and achieved many mile stones.
- The Department started B.SC(CBZ) in the year 1988 by Smt. V. Jaya Lakshmi. She established the department according to the need of the day.
- The Department produced several administrators.
- Medicinal Plant Garden and Museum were established later.
- The faculty members of botany department have completed various completed various courses in online mode offered by NPTEL in SWAYAM.
- All the members of the Department are having membership in ISERS.
- Currently department was running three Qualified, Knowledgeable and experienced faculty members.
HIGHLIGHTS OF DEPARTMENT OF BOTANY:
- The Department has achieved Percentage of 95% every year.
- The Department offered various courses Nursery Management(Value added course),Add on course(Herbal Plants, Custard Apple).
- The Department offered various community service projects and Internship Programmes in association with various companies.
- The Department is having a Botanical Garden Including Herbal Plants, Medicinal Plants etc…..
- The Department is having a Lab with electron microscope and Spotters etc..
- The Department has MOU’S with various Institutions for the benefits of students.
- A number of Field visits and Industrial visits were arranged every year.
- All Faculty members use ICT based Teaching- Learning procedures in their teaching pattern.
